The term "critical infrastructure", on the other hand, is to be understood in relation to facilities.[1] This refers to "an asset, facility, equipment, network, or system, or a part of an asset, facility, equipment, network, or system, which is necessary for the provision of an essential service" (Art 2 Z 4 CER-D, cf. § 2 Z 5 RKEG-Draft).
